Power over us

We give some people too much power over us. We allow them to know where our weaknesses lie. We even let them exploit this. We allow some situations to matter more than they probably ought to. Why do we do this? Because we need to experience vulnerability from time to time. If we just stomp around being cool, calm, confident and commanding, we end up growing rather shallow and two-dimensional. There is, though, a point past which we shouldn't go. Pull back from that brink you now and reclaim your power.
